To AI or not to AI?
(Hint: it's not all or nothing.)
Two of the most frequently asked questions I get are: "How long is it going to take me to write my book?" (from soup-to-nuts, likely 9 - 12 months) and, you guessed it, "But can't AI speed up the process?"
The answer is, "Yes!...but...."
AI, when used as a tool, is outstanding for research, to ideation, to charts and graphs, to organization, and so much more. But AI cannot write in your voice or tell your stories. It hallucinates and is too often untrustworthy. (Not to mention, a 2025 MIT* study found that overreliance on AI is leading to laziness!)
My stance on AI is firm: Yes, use AI as a tool. But do not draft, write, or revise your book using AI.
Your book needs human direction, human quality assurance, and above all, human judgement. If you use AI to write your book for you, you risk putting your hard-earned reputation and brand on the line.

Editing will begin based on completion of the first draft and includes the editorial assessment, developmental edit, line edit, copy edit, and proofread.
*Timeline to begin editing is dependent on author progress. Author revision delays may extend the timeline. Projects that are inactive for more than 45 days may be paused and require a reactivation fee or revised publication schedule.
